Synorai EcoCharge helps Shopify merchants present environmental handling fees more clearly for eligible electronics in supported provinces. In the current version, support is limited to Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.

Information we collect

To operate the app, we may access or process limited information from Shopify, including:

• Store and installation information, such as the shop domain and app installation session data
• App billing and subscription status needed to determine available app modes and features
• Product and variant information, including product tags used for fee category logic
• Store configuration data, including the merchant-selected province and app setup settings
• Limited cart and merchandise data required to calculate or display supported environmental handling fees
• Technical logs and webhook metadata needed for security, debugging, and support

Information provided directly by merchants

Merchants may provide information directly when installing the app, authenticating, changing settings, selecting a supported province, or contacting us for support.

Information from customers

Synorai EcoCharge is not designed to collect customer personal data directly for advertising or marketing purposes. The app may process limited cart or product information made available through Shopify only when needed to provide the app's fee calculation and display functionality.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

• Authenticate the app and maintain secure app sessions
• Save merchant settings and supported province configuration
• Calculate, display, or support environmental handling fee functionality
• Determine eligibility for Standard or Pro app behavior
• Maintain app security, troubleshoot issues, and provide merchant support
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

Data sharing

We do not sell merchant or customer data. We do not use merchant or customer data for advertising. We may share limited information with infrastructure and service providers only as needed to operate, secure, and support the app.

Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain security and support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Merchant responsibility

Synorai EcoCharge helps merchants present supported environmental handling fees more clearly. Merchants remain responsible for confirming their own legal, regulatory, compliance, reporting, and remittance obligations.
